We’re thrilled to unveil our two-year transformation of Launceston’s Dr Daniel Tan & Associates multi-specialty integrative dental practice. Located in an 1800s heritage building, the expansion and renovation project doubled the practice’s size and modernised its design.
Our clients Dr Daniel and Natalie Tan envisioned a space that pushed the boundaries of a typical clinical environment prototype, totally transforming the dental, skin and wellness patient experience. We incorporated soft timber tones, green accents and peaceful garden views through large consulting room windows to achieve a welcoming and comfortable space. The original waiting room and reception area were redesigned into one spacious area, featuring an Artedomus natural stone counter and handcrafted Tasmanian furniture.
Outside, mirrored rooflines, detailed aluminium screens and a copper-toned aluminium ribbon that wraps around the building create cohesion and design continuity, and the use of dark materials throughout the extension maintain visual focus on the building’s original heritage brickwork.
The outcome demonstrates a sensitive balance of the old and new, respecting the building’s original character, while prioritising patient comfort and creating a contemporary environment, not usually experienced in this kind of practice.
