We’re collaborating with lead consultant Cox Architecture on the design for a new multi-purpose stadium at Macquarie Point, Hobart. As a highly-regarded Tasmanian-owned architecture practice, Cumulus is proud to bring our local knowledge to the design process, and consideration to the sensitivities of the site, including the stadium’s visual prominence and environmental footprint. Primary design consultant Cox Architecture is one of Australia’s leading stadium designers, and has completed a number of major building and redevelopment projects, including Rod Laver Arena (Melbourne), Allianz Stadium (Sydney) and Optus Stadium (Perth). Cumulus Studio Director and Principal Architect Peter Walker said that it was important to have a Tasmanian team working on a distinctly Tasmanian project, and that the collaboration between Cumulus and Cox Architecture supports the responsible development of the Hobart stadium.
