Stoney Rise Cellar Door shortlisted
24 Aug 2021
We are delighted to share that Stoney Rise Cellar Door has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Retail Design’ category in the 2021 Eat Drink Design Awards.
It makes our team so proud that this project has been recognised among so many other incredible projects across Australia. The annual Eat Drink Design Awards supports innovation and excellence in the design of hospitality premises of all scales and types, retail environments for the sale of food and beverages and visual identities for both. The program recognizes and celebrates Australia and New Zealand’s best projects, rewarding design achievement in seven categories.
Jury chair and editor of Artichoke magazine Cassie Hansen said, “Designers are working beyond the confines of the traditional cafe or bar, envisioning a space that gives back to locals, and a responsive vision in dialogue with the local community.”
Winners will be announced on 5th November 2021.
Like a grape, Stoney Rise Cellar Door has grown from the seeds of close collaboration with the client. There was a shared desire by the client and our team for a small footprint yet high-quality materials. The project was driven by the brief for a cellar door that could be staffed by one person yet enable a unique wine experience, as well as, accommodate a range of functions, from the day to day of cellar door visitors and wine tastings to dinner parties and social gatherings. The outcome has created a unique offering where visitors have the opportunity to relax, enjoy the view while sipping a glass of wine and a platter. When you look at Stoney Rise it is different from every angle and offers visitors multiple spaces to utilise during their experience, indoors, outside by the fire in the sheltered courtyard or simply on the lawn.
