Aaron Lougoon

Architect

MArch, BEn (Arch), BSc
Registered Architect Victoria, TAS
Hobart Studio

Growing up in country Victoria, Aaron nurtured his early fascination with creating spaces by building cubby houses in the bush, and exploring the built environment on visits to the city. Prior to commencing architectural studies, he completed a Bachelor of Science at Melbourne University, during which his elective units in architecture and design enticed him back to the discipline. He later completed his Masters of Architecture, with a focus on heritage research and the residential realm.

After beginning his career at a Victorian heritage practice, Aaron went on to spend a number of years with an award-winning architecture and design studio, where his context-driven approach to many significant residential projects saw him progress to Associate.

Aaron’s practice responds to place by removing preconceived ideas and testing a multitude of scenarios throughout the early phases of each project, before applying his laser focus to every detail. Also a keen woodworker and landscaper, his weekends are most often spent working on his own home and garden, or exploring the bush with his family.
