DANIELLE
PACELLA

Architect / Sustainability Lead

B.Arch
Melbourne Studio

An integral part of our studio’s growing focus on sustainability, Dani guides the ongoing development of our Environmental Management Systems while collaborating closely with project leads to achieve the best sustainable outcomes for our projects.

As a registered architect and experienced project lead herself, Dani has led several medium to large-scale projects, many of which centre on sustainable design and mass timber construction.

Her notable projects include Monash University’s Gillies Hall, the first commercial-scale Passivhaus-certified building in Australia, and La Trobe Apartments, a $100M student accommodation development which received a 5-Star Green Star Design & As Built rating.

Dani's expertise in sustainable design is complemented by her certification as a Passivhaus Designer and her comprehensive knowledge of environmental solutions within the construction industry. She sees the need for a slower approach to design, a deeper consideration of the materials used in construction, and greater transparency in the supply chain of materials used in our industry.

Outside of our studio, Dani is a tutor of High Performance Design at the University of Melbourne’s School of Design and a volunteer with the Australian Passivhaus Association.
